The Brainary's Tech Team Builds Parloma Robotic Hand!

During the lockdown the Brainary’s Tech Team have been busy creating a fully programmable robotic hand, manufactured right in our office!...!

EZ Robot

During the lockdown the Brainary’s Tech Team have been busy tinkering with the EZ-Robot platform and working on new applications and projects. Our latest project is a fully programmable robotic hand, manufactured in our office.

To manufacture the hand, the Brainary Tech Team have been using their favourite new 3D printer – the Zmoprh VX. The Zmoprh has the ability to print, mill, cut and engrave using a combination of 3D printing, CNC and laser cutting.

3D Printers

Once the manufacturing was complete, the Tech Team started the build with silicon wiring, heavy duty servos and an EZ-B controller. The EZ-B controller will be the brains of the project and allow the Tech Team to program the hand’s movements using the EZ-Robot programming software – ARC.

The original purpose of the robotic hand was to be used as an alternative way to communicate with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing. The hands is able to be programmed to recreate sign language.

Parloma hand design

The Parloma hand design is an open source project available on GitHub. If you would like to 3D print and create your own Parloma hand, the design files are available from the link below.
