Product overview

An illustrated Journal packed full of activities to help children and young people to think about and manage their wellbeing on a daily basis.

My Toolbox of Wellbeing Journal has been written and illustrated by Dr Tina Rae and aims to support children and young teens (8-14) in developing their tools and strategies to maintain emotional, physical and cognitive wellbeing.

We know that there is a lot of evidence to show us that journaling can be very beneficial in supporting and maintaining mental health. The benefits are clear:

  • It can improve our mental health and well being
  • It can help us to record and savour special moments
  • It can help us to mange or reduce our stress levels
  • It can improve our confidence and self-esteem
  • It can help us to build our social connections
  • It can support us in processing problems and negative feelings or experiences

We also know that a focus on developing tools to manage stress and anxiety and using such tools in a pre-emptive way can reduce the risk of more serious long term mental health difficulties.

This journal therefore includes a wide range of activities for young people to try out and reflect on including self-regulation, reframing negative thoughts, and making connections and engaging in Creativity and Flow activities. There are inspirational quotes, thoughts for the day, Mindfulness, Colouring/Doodling, Affirmations and Gratitude exercises and so much more in this Journal!

The idea here is to encourage young people to develop their own toolbox of wellbeing and to essentially have some fun while doing so. They can make this journal their own, have fun in the process and use it to find their own sense of calm in this world. Gaining strength, getting to know yourself better, expressing yourself more freely and getting to know your creative side too will all provide the foundation for future well being and good mental health.
