Children often take a variety of hearing impairments and speech disorders to school with limited resources available to help them overcome and/or manage these disorders.
Accordingly we have created our Speech Communication Pack for Children, which is comprised of fun and engaging remedial resources.
The pack listed below includes educational story books to help children learn about sign language, interpreters, speech therapy and hearing impairments, other students will be able to also identify why their peer may be treated differently and begin to empathise with them.

Taking Hearing Impairments to School – This beautifully illustrated and fun-to-read storybook tells the story of Jacob, a kid living with a hearing impairment. Through Jacob’s story, readers learn about sign language, interpreters, hearing aids and speech therapy for kids with hearing impairments. When read aloud, other children can start to identify why a peer with a hearing impairment may be treated differently and begin to empathise with the peer. In addition, children with a hearing impairment or children who have conditions that set them apart as being different begin to feel accepted and safe.
