Sadly, grief and loss are a part of working in aged care. Not only does the caregiver provide services, support and counselling to those grieving, suffering illness, and other losses, but they may also be grieving themselves. Therefore, as a care provider it is important to be able to cope with the stress and emotions of care-giving and grieving.
To support aged care workers in staff development and training, we have created the Grief Education for Aged Care Pack to provide caregivers methods to cope with grief and loss, while supporting clients through their own grief and loss.
The Grief Education for Aged Care Pack includes:
- Grief Education for Caregivers of the Elderly
- Helping Grieving People – When Tears Are Not Enough: A Handbook for Care Providers, 2nd Edition
- Grief, Loss and Bereavement: Evidence and Practice for Health and Social Care Practitioners
- Let’s Talk About Dying
