This unique resource focuses on the one issue pertinent to all individuals with speech delays or on the Autism Spectrum—conversation skills, social understanding, and verbal language.
We have created a pack that includes resources focusing on a small set of high frequency words (core vocabulary) that children use throughout the day and which helps teachers and speech and language pathologists structure lessons to teach and practice those words using research-supported strategies. It also covers learner considerations, relevant issues, communication strategies, tips for evaluating software, and a skills checklist before moving on to the next stage of a learner’s cognitive and language development.

Tell Me Program – AAC in the Preschool Classroom – A classroom-wide approach for preschool children starting to use augmentative and alternative communication with core vocabulary. It targets the core words in shared reading, shared writing, and classroom routines.
Teaching Communication Skills to Children with Autism – A comprehensive overview of methods and strategies for developing functional communication in children and adolescents with autism. It addresses the needs of nonverbal and beginning communicators, plus children with high functioning autism and Asperger Syndrome.
Stages – A seven-stage framework for cognitive and language development – (Book only) Details a systematic framework and presents seven stages of a learner’s cognitive and language development. Each stage is outlined with learner considerations, relevant issues, communication strategies, tips for evaluating software, and an Observable Skills Checklist for moving on to the next stage.
